Risk disclosure

Last updated 17 October 2026

Trading memecoins, and copying other people's trades in them, is about the riskiest thing you can do with money. Read every point below before you put any in.

  1. 01

You can lose all of it

Any money you put into FOCO can be lost, in full and quickly. Only use money you can afford to lose completely, without changing how you live. FOCO is not suitable for most people.

  2. 02

    Memecoins

    • Memecoins have no underlying value. Their price is only what the next buyer pays, and most fall to almost nothing.
    • Prices can move tens of percent in seconds. Liquidity can vanish, so even a small sale can crash the price you get.
    • Many coins are traps: rug pulls, coins that can be bought but not sold, developers or insiders who dump on buyers, fake volume and bundled wallets. FOCO’s checks can’t catch them all.
  3. 03

    Copying other people

    • You always buy after the trader, usually at a higher price, and sell after them, usually at a lower one. A trade that made them money can lose you money.
    • A trader can sell into the buying of the people who copy them, trade from other wallets FOCO never sees, change how they trade, or stop.
    • Profit, win rates and rankings can mislead: they can come from luck, a few lucky trades, wash trading or accounts that later disappear.
    • Your size, rules, limits and timing differ from theirs, so your results will too. A trade of theirs can be missed, skipped or filled only in part.
  4. 04

    Trades and rules

    • Slippage, price impact, busy networks and bots that trade around your order can give you a much worse price than the one you saw.
    • Transactions can fail, more than once, and still cost network fees. Sales can fail when nobody is buying.
    • A stop loss sells after the price has fallen, at whatever price the market gives then, which can be far below your stop or nothing at all. Take-profits can be missed when the price spikes and falls between two checks.
  5. 05

    Technology

    • FOCO is software and has bugs. It, fomo.family, the exchanges, Relay, the price feeds or the blockchains can be slow, wrong or down, during exactly the moments that matter.
    • Moving money between chains depends on Relay and on bridges, which can delay, fail or be hacked.
    • Smart contracts, including the coins’ own, can have flaws that let someone take funds.
  6. 06

    Wallets and security

    • Your trading wallets are online wallets whose keys FOCO keeps, encrypted, to trade for you. Online wallets can be attacked, and a successful attack on FOCO or on you can empty them.
    • Anyone who gets into your Telegram account, the wallet app you sign in with, or a key you exported can take your funds. Blockchain transactions can’t be reversed.
    • Beware of anyone claiming to be FOCO support: FOCO will never ask for a key or a recovery phrase.
  7. 07

    Cash

Your cash is held as USDC and other stablecoins. A stablecoin can lose its dollar value, and its issuer can freeze it.

  8. 08

    Numbers on screen

Prices, market caps, profit and loss, and every statistic FOCO shows are estimates from outside data and can be wrong or late. Paper trades use real prices but simulate the fills; real trades do worse.

  9. 09

    Fees

FOCO’s fee, network fees and Relay’s charges are paid on every trade, winning or losing. On small trades and frequent copying they add up quickly and can turn a break-even strategy into a loss.

  10. 10

    Law and tax

Rules on crypto assets differ by country and change. A change can make FOCO, a chain or a coin unavailable to you. Trades can create tax to pay even when you lose money overall; keeping records and paying it is up to you.

  11. 11

    Yourself

Markets run day and night, and fast gains and losses invite chasing both. Set limits before you start, and stop if trading is costing you more than money.
